Hello all, I wanted to post this here because I couldn't find the answer anywhere and it could effect a lot of people potentially.

I have two switches, one clean and one for cfw. I made a new Nintendo account for the cfw switch...however that account shares an email with an account on the legit switch. Separate Nintendo IDs/account names, same email.

Now that my cfw console has been banned, should I worry that my "clean" console is in any danger for sharing an email? My thinking is that it shouldn't be, but I was hoping someone could provide insight?

How is this even possible? Have the account rules changed since the release of the Switch. I bought one on release day and then another in June 2017. I tried to set the second up with the same email but N would not let me. I was forced to create a second account using a different email as the primary account. Was not a problem setting up the same child accounts on both Switch’s but it was a no go for the primary e-shop enabled account.

Your clean switch will be fine but I highly suggest to having a separate account for your hacked switch and clean switch because we don't really know how nintendo detects and tags you for a ban.

Yeah the accounts are separate, but they share an email which is all that sketched me out. Not sure how far Nintendo is willing to go, although if I got banned on the clean switch I would certainly fight it in these circumstances.

Filled out the ban report too, cuz knowledge is powerrrr! Seriously tho thanks for the insight everyone appreciate it

I can just tell you how it worked for me:

Had first switch, made primary account. Made second account with different email on first switch.

Got second switch, created primary account with a different name but same email as second account on my primary switch. Now that switch/account is banned and upon realization that they were ....slightly...linked, I slapped my head lol. And here we are. Maybe it's different if it's the primary account on both switches, I really couldn't say, sorry

Based on your feedback, I bit the bullet and logged into the shared email account on my clean switch finally and tried the Eshop. Full access, so apparently anyone else with the question will at least have an answer. I'll of course update if things change and Nintendo finds a bigger Ban Hammer.

Thanks again everyone, new here but great community!

TL:DR: a banned account sharing an email with an unbanned account will not have any negative effect for a "clean" switch. Sharing the SAME EXACT ACCOUNT...probably not a good idea.

if an account is linked to a banned switch, does it not make sense to ban that account completely for breaking agreements and what not

Absolutely, my concern was the banned account sharing an email with a legit one. But for anyone else with this question, so far so good. Clean switch can access all online features despite the situation :)

i thought everybody knew cocktails are like 75% ice
  • Veho @ Veho:
    Yeah but not like this.
  • Veho @ Veho:
It's not like they're complaining that their Slurpee is 99% ice or something, but if the cocktail calls for "shot of vodka, shot of vermouth, shot of gin, shot of Campari, three shots of juice, squirt of lemon" and ends up being a thimbleful of booze, that's a problem.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
the funny thing is cocktails in norway are only allowed to have 1 20ml shot of booze
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    so..... yeah
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
we're used to only having a thimbleful of booze

    Booo.

same thing if you want whisky on the rocks or something, you can't get a double
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
but you could buy as many shots of whisky (or anything else) as you want and ask for a glass of ice and pour them in
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    it's dumb
  • Veho @ Veho:
    Maybe.

There was a comparison of the number of Ibuprofen poisonings before and after they limited the maximum dosage per box or per pill (i'll look that up). No limit on the number of boxes you can still buy as many as you want, so people argued it was pointless.
  • Veho @ Veho:
But the number of (accidental) poisonings dropped because drinking an entire package of ibuprofen pills went from "I need a new liver" to "I need a new box of Ibuprofen".
  • Veho @ Veho:
Here we have ketoprofen that used to be prescription-only because of the risk of toxic dosages, but then they halved the dose per pill and sell them in bottles of six pills apiece instead of twenty and it doesn't need a prescription any more. Yes you can buy more than one bottle but people simply don't.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Usually accidentally overdose of ibuprofen here is from people taking like cold medicine then ibuprofen for a headache and the combination is over what they need
