Honestly is Octoling really cheating? Its just a modification of what you look like.

It's something Nintendo doesn't want people to use and know about (generally when it comes to Splatoon modding/hacking). So they unwrap their ban hammer

I know that feeling, I'm ban too due to unreleased weapons. (the Sloshing Machine was fun … once)

first I got the message (few hours after my ban) :
Error Code: 102-2814
Online service cannot be used.
Please contact customer support ...

and now the message is more like :
Error Code: 102-2812
Online service are unavailable on this console.

My NNID works on miiverse web site.
So I'm almost sure this is a console ban

Now, I'm trying to intercept libcurl calls. And eventually catch some private IDs.

Was removed about a week later, I may be able to give you the error code later, but I have to search in old screencaps.

but pedro702 is correct modding an online game gets people who normally never hack to talk about and/or consider hacking a prospect "arr and we all know where that be leadin' lad-dy" thats right . . . skin mods are to hacking as marijuana is to drugs . . . lite, simple, seemingly safe, but very easily leads to "harder" things . . . nintendo does not want you to lead people to harder things

Weird how they even do it for private matches. I guess they dont count a difference once on joins a lobby online

nintendo does not want you to lead people to harder things

They don't want you to do anything inofficial with their products AT ALL. Mention glitches for onlinegames in miiverse, delete. Do cosmetic stuff to your character, ban. Seriously just look at what youtubers doing Nintendo went through the past year because they wanted to do their job with Nintendos Content...
