i'll go download and try it now, i'll report back
Must not be good he never reported back.lol

haven't tried it myself nor do i plan to, but it sounds like startpatch but with the benefit to be able to add your own hacks.
i couldn't get it to install, i don't have the trucha bug or something, and i never bothered restoring it

search for TBR (trucha bug restorer) and use it on ios36, if it fails like mine did use ios249, and then run it again on ios36, it will work.

You can also use Dop-IOS to get latest IOS36 with trucha and ES_Identify patch.
Or you can modify Banana Patcher executable. Change this hex string:
2B 0A 00 24
to:
2B 0A 00 F9
And it will run under IOS249 (cIOS).

ok now, after i updated it must have deleted the patches for startpatch 4.0, can no longer move disc channel and get health safety screen again...

should i have uninstalled them first or doesnt it matter now?

also just to get one thing ultimately clear, do i have to apply patches from banana patcher again if i power off my system?

When you updated, it installed the new System Menu 4.1 so you lost all your patches.
If you want to have them permanently you will have to reinstall Startpatch 4.1.

Banana Patcher applies the same patches but it doesn't modify your console. So everytime you want these patches you will have to run it. If you want them permanently install Preloader.
Banana Patcher was made for those users who don't want to touch the NAND and want these features.

is there any chance to see this with usb support? I mean loading USD:/banana_hacks.txt

EDIT: I did it myself but haven't tested it yet. Probably tomorrow.

I tried it and it worked like a charm. I just made some quick changes so the version I compiled only loads from usb. I borrowed the usb mount code (the libogc method only and not the cios one) from usbloader gx (which I had handy at my laptop) and replaced the one used originally. Of course I fixed the unmount command too and some cosmetic changes to the prompts (removed the SD mention).

As I said it works like a charm, but because I didn't give SD and USB support (i have to rewrite a little the code to be dual friendly) I'm not releasing the dol. If you need the usb support though, you can pm me for a link

Anyone got Banana Patcher to work under System menu 4.2? If so, please share your hacks.
it uses preloader hacks, so just download the 4.2 preloader hacks.ini and rename it appropriately.

Report:

Tried using the following preloader 4.2U code in banana_hacks.txt:

CODE[Move Disc Channel]
version=481
offset=0x813AFC00
value=0x60000000
[Region Free GC Games (No VM Patch)]
version=481
offset=0x8137D90C,0x8137D910
value=0x900DA5D8,0x38000032

Results:
Move Disc Channel = successful
Region Free GC Games = gave an error

The application works for me, and gives me the option of which temporary hacks I want to enable. However, after I'm done with that and it loads prii/preloader, my wiimote does not seem to want to be able to scroll up and down through that menu. Any ideas?

Why on earth do you need to use this if you have Priiloader? It uses the same hacks, just use them in Priiloader.

I don't believe I have priiloader. When I turn on my system it boots to BootMii. This banana patcher program automatically will boot to priiloader after you run it and select the hacks you want to use.

Oh, I didn't know that I've never used it, I figured you meant you had it and then when you ran banana patcher it booted your installed priiloader.
