Hm? The website isn't just an image. It's pure HTML or whatever programming it uses. The badges, however, are images.
I'm not exactly sure how the authentication worked. They'll probably have the same auth, though.

I've also noticed that some users have icons beside their name as well. did you do it manually or is there some sort of scraper?

It gets the Gravatar icon using the GBATemp username, or a different one if the user told me they have a different Gravatar username to GBATemp username. It could be that I made the user names case insensitive as the map keys, and I had added someone twice with different case, so now when it added them the second time it overwrote the previous entry. I'll check on that next time I open the project.
