Hacking Backup Loader 0.3 Compatibility Thread

Guitar Hero: Aerosmith - Sound does not seem to be perfectly synced, but it seems to be almost perfect if you pause and unpause at the start of a song. Otherwise, the videos and loadings are great.

I've been having issues with Metroid Prime 3 [PAL][patched].
First time i loaded it i played for about 30min flawlessly. Then it froze and the wii rebooted on itself, since then the game crashes after the wiimote warning.
The strange thing is that if i delete the saved game slot of Metroid Prime 3 the game loads normally, but after a while playing it, and after creating a new saved game slot, it crashes again.
Going to try a 1:1 copy this afternoon since it has been reported working and confirm it here.

just tried Luxor pal not patched. it gave me game cannot be read errors at random parts of the loading/menu. game itself works, if you get there(at least as far as i know, cause i only played one level.

I have a PAL Wii(3.1E), i'm using Verbatim DVD+Rs burnt at 16X and 8X(2nd burner only supports up to 8X). I have tested a few games till actual gameplay. [==> There might be some bugs like crashes at certain stages etc.]

Metroid Prime 3 (PAL - decrypted)
Mario Kart (PAL - decypted)
Mario Strikers Charged Football (PAL - decrypted)
Mario Party 8 (PAL - decrypted)
Resident Evil 4 (PAL - decrypted)

Super Paper Mario (PAL - 1:1)


Mario Kart works fine, but once my wii froze at No SD codes found in the loader's menu. What does that mean if a game freezes there occasionaly?

Familly Ski - patched & 1:1 do not work anymore (ok on v0.1). They crash with 'please eject....' message.

you have a bad burn then.. it worked great for me and many others.

Rebel Raiders Operation Nighthawk - Ntsc game on a Pal Console ( 1:1 ) unpatched - works if you pal force 60 , choose yes to vid patch and change hooktype to GC Pad.
Mario Kart ( Patched ) Works great on Pal

Hope someone else can update the wiki on this.

I have only played two levels.

Ralphyboy, are you sure you have 0.3 installed? So far you're the ONLY one who got de Blob working.


To those with non-working de Blob: What firmware do you use?

Edit Also, did you downgrade your cIOS beforehand or not?

Ok people, I claimed most of my new games didn't work. In fact it was because of my DVD brand.

Do not use Verbatim DVD-R. You'll get a lot of disc error / can't read disc screens

Just burned again Metroid 3 with a different brand and it works perfectly !

you must have a bad burn, it works great for me with no errors (except a slight slowdown in intro and a split second pause in audio between players)

Well most of my previous games I patched were burnt on a different brand (that I now just used for Metroid 3) and they all work. With Verbatim DVD-R, I burnt 4 games, none of them worked at all. The only problem is that I don't remember what brand they are... They are all white (like Printable). Could be Mediarange Printable DVD-R but not sure, will have to check it out.

Maybe some people here don't have problem with Verbatim DVD-R but those don't work at all here so I thought it was worth mentioning.

i have some verbatim dvd-r too, so i will give you results soon,
but sometimes it's just a bad luck with a crappy serie of dvdr not actually a bad brand...

It is not the brand that is most important ... it is the Manufacturer ID! Example:TYG03. Look in ImgBurn to find it. Verbatim have many different ID codes. They are not all made by the same manufacturer!

:edit: I use unknown branded dvds and burn on 4x with imgburn. and use it on a PAL Wii.

And does anybody already tried wii music on pal and is able to get color???
