Of course it's fake.
Here are some reasons

1) It's not in his GBATemp blog
2) To my understanding, so long as we can install a CIOS we can use the backuploader. The worst that could happen is we'd be forced to use a channel or run it via The Homebrew Channel
3) Where is his post here?

Why would the Backup Launcher 0.3 be killed if you don't upgrade your wii?

If his loader required that you download files from nintendo, and those files are now patched so they wont work, then it might. But I guess if you didn't update and you could just install the original unpatched files locally then you would be okay.

or you could just upload the files to another server. they were tiny, so that shouldn't be the problem.

Me parece que Wiigator va a tardar en la liberacion del backup loader v 0.3, creo que esta esperando que finalicen la prueba los que les paso la beta y lo depurará un poco mas.
Si no es asi espero una respuesta.
