Damn, you're right (not that's something wrong with being right, but the thing you're right about^^)
But I think there will be a way so we can still use homebrew.

Ya people have forgotten about that. Nintendo usually give us a system update. When we get a new channel or service. They know everyone will want to make their Wii Chat Enable. That will be a prefect time to strike. Also a Update may come with Animal Crossing.

It would be dumb to think that NINTENDO doesn't know about it, and as far as they're concerned, there're certainly waiting for the finalo loader to be released to strike back...We...i mean i dunno if it is possible, but they'd probably wages a surprise full scale attack, by WIIConnect 24 or something like...The WII can receive data while in standby mode if the WIIConnect is enabled...i assume that they can also give the consol the order to turn on and to update itself...

For the people in the United States, It is illegal to force updates. The user MUST have the chance to decline/accept it.

When you run a connection test on the Wii™ it ASKS you if you want to update. If it DIDN'T ASK and it updated automatically without a chance to decline, it would be illegal.

People in the US have nothing to worry about!

U need to have the cios_fix (of cos renamed) in Root of SD.
Then you have to start the cIOS installer via HBC.
Where can i find the installer? Also, does the wad have to be edited (file extension wise)?

Edit: Stupid question, i'll look on Wiibrew

It may be illegal, but they can pull a sony and make you do it. Or your system will not play any games.

@TheWon

Yeah, it's perfect for them to do an update.

offtopic:
Speaking of chatchannels, is there an MSN application for the Wii?
(sorry for asking here, but to make an whole new topic or something...)

Nah. I HIGHLY doubt they would do that. Plus, technically speaking, if they were to do that, it is updating! A very small update that won't let your system play games!
If they were to do that... I'd just use GeckoOS! lol

They could create games with a tiny update in them that wouldnt play unless you updated ... windows installer sytle ... do you accept ? No ... program closes.

*edit* am i giving them ideas ?

Yeah, you know what Nintendo are like something new from the homebrew scene comes along and then, Nintendo counteract it with an update like they did with the Twlight Hack.

What doesn't mean that it will happen again? Not that i'm jinxing it for course.

if you have nothing better to do than keep asking here for videos, maybe you should get a job or clean your room.

A perfect video to illustrate the loading time differences and non-stutter of the new loader.

The loader has come a long way in a short period of time.

Then wait for the loader to come out.
Ohh thank god people are learning !!!

By the way Lwares - all the files you need should be in my zip except that anytitledeleter - i installed the old Cios and uninstalled it 4 times and it removed it.

Thanks, djtaz and WiiShizzza for your help.

Yeah, I could so with getting rid of anytitledeleter as it's no good to me anyway.

Edit: Just to double check, does Mario Kart Wii play perfectly when the patch is installed? Well, apart from the slow loading times of course.

Alright, so I'm a little lost. I haven't read this thread for a couple days. I am using 0.1 with the cios fix where I have to select gc pad before I load the game. Is this the most current setup for a non-beta-tester or did I miss something else being released? Thanks!

Quote from the list:

WiFi doesn't work 90% of time due to slow stage loads. Pre-rendered video stutters. Crashes during black screen load of 'Next Race' in GP mode depending on cup. NTSC Default settings: Warning screen, then black screen.

you missed something *cough* in my signature *cough*

the new boot.dol file is there - and try installing the new channel - its class

@LWares
Yes MK works great.

@Jm9760
- you don't have to select GC-Pad in backuploader 0.1 (blue one) if under config it says "diabled"
- If you use the (red one) then go to config end set hook-type to GC-Pad

//EDIT: as usual djtaz is as fast and as correct as usual.
...just see the signatures.

@djtaz: Thanks, but I prefer to launch it from the homebrew channel. Is this version 0.2? What's new in it?
