Hacking back up CIA Saves

Hi , i want to back up my cia saves , do i have to use JKSM or just copy the saves directly from my SD card

If you copy the saves from your SD card, they will only work on your console and will stop working if you ever do a system format or system transfer (though they would work on the target console). JKSM is required if you want them to work on any machine. It's really easy to do a backup of every save at once so there's no reason not to use it.

ok so i go to SD/CIA , choose the game then export the save right ?

Yep. If you want to do all at once, go to Help, it will tell you the key combination (I can't remember).

Well if you copy the whole folder then you can drop that into any 3DS and restore the saves. If you only save the individual files then you'll have to remember what the folder structure is.

I just copy the whole JKSM folder. The whole darn thing. If it becomes necessary for you to be picky, copy the specific game folders, not the files individually.
