Gaming ATTN: Experience with XCM HDD shell.

I'm going to do the Mod where you get the WD Scorpio and flash it to work as a 360 HDD. The only problem is I bought (and subsequently fixed) an RROD 360 off of ebay, which didn't come with a hard drive in the first place, so I don't have the official Microsoft drive enclosure.

I need to know if the XCM Hard Drive shell from ConsoleShop

will work if I'm not upgrading from an official drive. If I do the mod with the scorpio, can I just place it in this shell and it'll plug into the proprietary port on the 360 itself? Or would it be a waste of my money?

The shell doesn't come with the connector to connect it to the 360. It's just the outer shell.
