A lot of this might become moot. If Bell Canada gets it's way, UBB will make it practically impossible to indulge any sort of sums of data movement sufficient to make downloading worth the effort.

The flashcarts loss would suck, but anyone that gets in the way of me being able to download anime fan subs is looking for a fight.

Privacy laws would need to be changed though in order for anyone to 'see' what I am downloading.

UBB is an awful idea, yeah... but ultimately, I'm less worried about that. I'm not sure Bell realizes how unpopular it is, and how much moreso it would become, if (or when) they implement it. Sympatico isn't the only ISP in Canada, though, and if they stop offering a service people want, other companies will offer it. I've already made it quite clear to Bell (after the recent CRTC ruling) that I'll cancel my service with them immediately upon being transferred to a UBB system.

DMCA prevents us from buying, importing or selling flashcarts.
so if this happens,
will modding also be affected?
because modding is similar to using a flashcart.

in addition to this,
what will happen to people who import other products,
such as Unlocked Phones,
or things like the Dingoo A320.

There'll always be online stores that sell Flashcarts to Canada... I think Ace Gundam's predications are more of a worst-case-scenario. The US already has their DMCA, and you can still have things shipped there.
