Hacking Atmosphere 19.5 Apps Crashing

I'm running atmosphere version 19.5 on 12.1.0|AMS M.19.5|E . I have NSP games I previously had installed running now and I can load Retroarch. I've attempted to launch both ftpd and the homebrew store and I can't get either app to properly launch? I've copied the NRO files to the root of the SD card. I've tried launching them photo album and also launching them thru the holding down R method. One crashes with an error stack (going thru photo gallery) and the other has a general switch error.

I've copied the NRO files to the root of the SD card

Put nros into sd:/switch/

Did you copy the hbmenu.nro to the root of your sd card?
