I will be getting $80 soon and will spend it on 3ds games
i already paid for the 3ds and street fighter
so i know i want a racing game but which one do you guys think

for the other game, i was thinking either super monkey ball as it was my first game for gamecube
    or starwars
    or Pilotwings Resort
    or 3dsware

    help me decide

too many good looking games and not enough money!!!

Save it for OoT which is coming out in june which isn't too far off or if you're really desperate I'd buy some 3DSWare as none of those games look like decent titles other then SSFIV which you already have purchased.

    i think im getting asphalt
i guess i always have been a realistic racer
what with need for speed etc
with the exception of mario kart
i am getting both mario kart and this since this is a relistic racing game and mariokart is a casual racing game

Asphalt is a direct port of Asphalt 6: Adrenaline from the iPhone. It is ok, but not great. I had a chance to play ridge racer on the 3DS in early Feb, and felt that it was a much better game! It was smoother and had a better sensation of speed. The choice is yours.

Asphalt will always have more replay value, that is a no brainer. Well at least until you unlock everything. After that, it is kinda at a mute point. Ridge Racer is eyecandy but low replay value oddly. Asphalt likely will have less resale value due to it not being a long time established 3rd party with a huge retro name "NAMCO".

Pilot Wings is said to make best use of the 3D LCD screen in one review I read which pretty much flogged every launch title.

Imho, I like Pilot Wings and Steel Diver.

as far as non launch titles go, I was impressed by Metal Gear and Kid Icarus. So it looks like my entire library of games would be 4 evidentally. But then I could go for Asphalt and Dead or Alive. Maybe Street Fighter, but I'm all Street Fightered out. I was playing DOA4 yesterday on 360. Fantastic game.

I already have preorders in for blue 3DS and Pilot Wings. Too bad the 3DS doesn't simply come with Kid Icarus. now, that would have been a kick ass pack in for launch.

    ive been thinking
while story line games arnt replayed often, they are quite fun and so i was looking for a good game with a really long storyline that doesnt get boring
im not sure if something like that is at launch
but im sure a story line game would be nice
    i dont know
    what are your thoughts?

Okay, I'm not digging the other $40 choices you have listed, so I'll just say it here: Rayman 3D. I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

    ill look into that
and the racing games are just something i can come back anytime and play when i have no new games to play just like sstreet fighter
games like pokemon white are what i play when i have the money to afford them

edit: rayman looks a lot like an adventure game
sort of the same style as pacman adventure games for the gamecube
ill put some thought into it as i never played the original

The original 2D one is good and worth playing, but it's pretty irrelevant to Rayman 2 (Rayman 3D is basically Rayman 2 remade/ported to the 3DS). I've never played Rayman 2 either, but having played Rayman 3, I can say it'll probably be pretty good.

Asphalt 3D looks better but appears to be pretty...I don't know, jerky.

Ridge Racer seems fast and fluid. I don't really like racing games so, my opinion is below most.

As for the other 40 bucks, I voted for Lego Star Wars

I think that your best bet is to get Asphalt, and then saving the rest of your money until June.

Zelda may be coming out for the US by then! Or, you can save longer for the new Super Mario 3DS title.

First, I am not a racing game player, so I will not comment between Assault 3D or Ridge Racer 3D.

However, I just want to back up TehSkull, and say that the other $40 choices all have something noticably bad about them that could impact your initial 3DS impressions:
Monkey Ball can be frustrating as hell, and the 3DS isn't durable enough to survive a throw against a wall after failing a course for the 100th time in a row.
Lego Star Wars is also coming on literally every other console and handheld, and has always had and still has major monotony problems. I would recomend getting this game on a system you know well already besides DS, as the DS versions of Lego Star Wars are well known to have bad graphics problems and glitchy gameplay.
Pilotwings is the best of these three, but it's got the same frustrating gameplay that leads to the same durability problem as Monkey Ball.

I also agree with TehSkull and say that Rayman 3D is the best of all the launch titles, despite being not known well to many. It is based on Rayman 2 for Dreamcast, which as GameRankings tells you here: http://www.gamerankings.com/dreamcast/2506...cape/index.html is known to be a really good game, and it's a safe bet that the 3DS version will be good whether or not you've played Rayman 2 or not because the 3DS version will have a number of very noticable differences from any other version (including "accessibility, progression, and learning curve"), aside from the obvious addition of 3D. I personally have not played Rayman 2, but I have oddly enough beaten both Rayman 1 and 3, and both were excellent games. I only have $40 period to spend on a launch game for 3DS, and for me, it is easily going to Rayman 3D.

i personally enjoyed monkeyball on the gamecube
except for the levels where it was near impossible which was last or second to last
how is it different on the 3ds

and as far as rayman, how long does it take to beat it roughly
i like long and exciting story lines that are not predictable and will last a while
    i agree
starwars is a game on too many other consoles to get and it makes no sence
    so scratch that one off
pilot wings looked appealing i dont know why
maybe its because i feel bad not buying a first party game at launch
no it isnt that since pilot wings is not by nintendo but rather monster whatever
knowing whether monkeyball has good online mode would push me one way or the other
    or if rayman sounds fun
or i could buy 3dsware and vc games
