I updated to B9S about two weeks ago because I was bored and had nothing to do. To me the main thing about this is you no longer need to worry about needing an sd card in my 3ds for it to open. That's about the main feature to me even though I never really take my sd card out of my 3ds.

You could already do that with a9lh

Definitly, if you want to stay up to date.
A9LH will soon become obsolet.


just wondering if it would make any diffence updating to B9S from 66-b16d887(dev)

or update to 8.1.1 then update to B9S

so if i run the luma updater v1.4.2

and select update to 8.1.1 from arm9loaderhax 66-b16d887 (dev) < currently installed

I have some questions

will i be on the new B9S < https://3ds.guide/a9lh-to-b9s.html

so would nt need to follow this guide ?

Yes, follow the guide first, when you're done you will be on the newest luma

what i mean is if i update my 3ds using the luma updater on the 3ds at the minute it want's to install 8.1.1 from 66-b16d887 (dev)


do you mean after i update with luma updater on the 3ds @ the moment i still would need to use the guide or

should i just take apart my 3ds put the sd in my pc and put the files ive downloaded from the guide site

trying to find out which way is best

Just follow the guide, it will explain everything

You won't be able to update to 8.1 with Luma Updater. Either it will error or you will end up with an unbootable 3DS and have to put Luma 7.0.5 back on to make it work again. There's a new Luma Updater that will work with B9S, but first you need to install B9S.

that cleared that up good job i didnt select to update on luma updater 1.4.2 as it say's it could update to 8.1.1 think its time to open up the 3ds and get the sd card out :)

@REAVERS never follow video guides, they go obsolete very quickly and may be incompatible with current tools or even have a risk of bricking. Just follow https://3ds.guide as it's the first to be updated.
