I know that well. Afaik D9 still didn't get updated to provide keys manually and set them through (just looked at the git).

Probably a noob question but, I remember reading something about the Nand backups from A9LH Decrypt9 would be different then the from backups made from in a Nand encrypted or something. (It was late at night while I was reading.) is this still how it works or was that solved, just wondering so I don't try to restore a old backup if I screw up my sysnand somehow.

^ Probably referring to the fact that FIRM0 and FIRM1 would be left out of the dumps, I'm guessing?

well a regular NAND dump will be fine, but all other decryption options won't be, there's an issue where firm hasn't set things up yet... so the actual backup will be fine, but if you try dumping ctrnand, firm partitions, try to decrypt CIAs and other things all of those will fail...

tl;dr: NAND backup and restore from a9lh will be fine but everything else will fail

Tried the update on New3ds; blue light comes on for a brief second then turns off (along with the unit)

Can the updater bee run from the HBL?

sounds like you didn't name the file properly... it's possible that your OS is hiding extensions from you, so just try renaming it to arm9loaderhax :)

I have the same issue on a normal size n3ds, but I know i named it correctly because booting AuReiNand works fine when I boot it instead

I'm currently working on this, I'm trying to get info but several people are reporting conflicting results, so it's hard to tell what's at fault here

All i get is the backlight and a black screen too, New 3ds XL running 9.0E firmware was cold booting into emunand perfectly fine but the screen init just isn't working for me.

Same here. I just get a blank screen on my N3DSXL. However, pressing certain buttons will shut down the system. I added splash.bin to AuReiNand's folder and it shows, but is that what this was supposed to do? Just take control of screen initialization right after boot? Like how will we know that the installer has worked?

So are you just using an updated sysNAND and nothing else? How would you go about running the a9loaderhax installer .3dsx again, if for some reason that ever became a requirement? (I'm assumming it only works through a 9.2 sysNAND and not emuNAND).

The installer worked for you, but the screen init in the installer did not for some reason...
hmm this is getting interesting, it seems isolated to the n3ds now. Everyone who's tried it on o3ds has reported success (that's what it was made on too)

Yeah, seems hit or miss on n3ds for some reason... I'm investigating

Huh, how peculiar... Well good that it worked for me at least. Odd that it didn't show anything... I'm currently running everything off a N3DSXL with 9.2 sysNAND and 10.6 emuNAND, but I don't know if that changes anything at all really.
