What's sad, is I can think of a list a mile long of titles that could be easy to port to the DS that would have my wargaming crowd thinking they had gone to heaven.
But they've talked themselves into thinking "we could never afford to make them".
And I know there are a lot of non wargame titles that could be rather nice if put on the DS. But the people in position to make the choices, just don't seem interested.
All we're getting, is a lot of game designers that are incredibly lazy, under motivated, and looking to make a fast buck.
I think the PSP could support a large selection of titles for wargaming too. Maybe even easier to some extent.
Panzer General, Allied General, fine games. Redone to be more inline with the reduced environment wouldn't be impossible I would assume.
But my fav example of the moment. Could they have not made Paint DS a complete copy of Paint from the PC? Why not, the program is not what I call complicated.
While it is true there are fine games available, it can't be good looking for a product, if a great many of the games made, look less than stellar. It's makes the consumer less than willing to pay. Are YOU interested in playing "lets find the good games" with YOUR cash? "Oh too bad joe consumer, it seems like you bought a turkey this time, too bad, maybe next month".
