I'm wondering there is any auto_boot feature in M3.
I mean the kernel read the ini and automatically launch it without menu.
Because if there is, we can write the destination ROM name there and just launch the kernel (via kernel switcher).
Is there in TouchPod/M3Sakura/iSakuReal/iTouchDS/R4iRTS(/Kaura)?

put defaultn.nds in root folder..it should boot in Sakura 1.4x and 1.1x
or check for boot.ini file in microsd

I think for the boot.ini you need to go through touchpod, and for the defaultn.nds is for sakura.

He wants to know if there's an auto boot that's read before any firmware is run at all.

Couldn't we technically edit the loader.eng or g6load.eng or whatever file is booted first and have that file redirect to a NDS file instead of another .eng file? Heck, we could probably even have it redirect to an ini file and have it read that ini file. But I'm not sure about how much of this you'd be able to accomplish with a hex editor.

OK then I'll try boot.ini to make MoonShell2 extlink.
Please wait, PinkCatBoy...

#Of course touchpod won't be able to be booted directly from firmware. My test will go on only iSakuReal (if it is OK)
#And DSMPlayer in TouchPod won't be available any longer.

Confirmed. World's first M3DS nds extlink wiii come in next week!
This means DScovered will work on M3DS!

[Edit]I don't know what is the problem, but the save file got corrupted. I have to investigate...

Wait, so by extlink you mean running the M3i Zero without any of the official firmwares by the M3 Team directly?

acekard might have Normmatt.. BUT we have Xenon++

shouldnt Xenon++ threads be sticked?

...Wow. I had looked at this idea a while back, but found none of the m3 firmwares could boot through the homebrew loader. I hope you manage it, then I might start using my M3i again

touchpod will jump directly to destination nds.

Couldn't we already do that by just putting the rom name in boot.ini after the "DirectBoot="?

Yes, a million times yes.
