Are Switch 2 bans appealable?

With the Switch 1, I assumed that all console bans are permanent and non-appealable, since I never saw anyone actually getting a console unbanned.

Then the Switch 2 came and I saw a story about a previously banned console being unbanned.

Was that a fake story or are console bans actually possible to appeal now?

Nintendo only unbanned if there is evidence of mistake on Nintendo's end, so if you got banned for use MIG, it is irreversible because Nintendo already have an evidence that you used it.

It depends on reason about why you got banned and if you unknowingly run the used cartridge that certificate is tainted and you get a ban, so you can contest with Nintendo that you don't know about used cartridge with tainted certificate - it is unintentional.

Only if they made the mistake then they will unbanned you.

If you got banned because you bought used Switch 1 games which someone else dumped and shared online for the MiG Switch and you have the physical cartridges on hand, you can contact Nintendo and they will unban you. There might be other circumstances where one can get unbanned which I'm not aware of.

Erghh that is completely the wrong information soon as Nintendo ban your console there is nothing you can do, even if you ring Nintendo directly and plead your case over the phone they just say there’s nothing they can do to reverse the ban trust what I say I have tried personally

That is not my own word - it is based on several people reported that Nintendo lift the ban if it is mistake that is done by Nintendo at first place.

If you got banned because of MIG, so they aren't lift the ban at all. If not, you have to push hard and it need take a lot of effort to get a ban lifted.

No I’ve never used the Mig and a ban cannot be lifted once the payload has been sent and activated. Try searching the threads on here you will find plenty of information years back from myself about Switch bans and how it all works. You should be able to find a whole thread on bans with Switch consoles, if it still exists and how it all works myself and this other chap were the first pair to ever test how bans are activated and what you can and should not do we burnt several Switch console certs between us testing it out
