So I found out that my college has Microsoft Imagine and provides Windows Server 2016 and Windows 10 for free! I was wondering if it is would still be possible to use the OS after I leave college or after my account expires?

Yup it is, I graduated 6 years ago and all my server 2008 R2, Server 2012 and 2012 R2 keys still work fine.
In addition if your College / University lets you keep your email address you can re-verify and get keys for new versions of Windows Server upon release. I recently got Server 2016 keys
