Next month i'm planning to splash out and buy a PSP Slim (2000) i'v been hearing that newer models of the PSP Slim arn't hackable, is this correct? Everywhere i look has different answers :s And if this later PSP Slim is unhackable does anybody know any good retailers selling the original hackable Slim

Later versions of the PSP 2000 have the TA088v3 motherboard, which is unhackable. There are some workarounds to installing CFW, but they're not permanent. They go away if you shut off your PSP. Leave the PSP in standby, and you're good to go. As for retailers still selling old Slims, I can't help you. I'd check Craigslist or eBay or Gamestop.

To be safe, buy a limited edition psp 2000. Im trying to buy this second hand/used God of War PSP and I'll buy it this Tuesday or Wednesday. I need to play FFIX PSX that badly

I heard all black PSP may have the new motherboard but i read that it's the black only that's being focused. I also heard that the pink one has unhackable one but i dont know what this person did to checked if it's a TA-088V3.

I might just go with the 3000... I know it doesn't have a permanant CFW yet as ot needs to be left on standby or i was thinking of the Ratchet and Clank limited edition Silver PSP Slim bundle

I don't wanna buy one and have to send it back due to the fact the motherboard wasn't the right version, i'v been trying to dig up some of the first PSP Slim bundles, they're more likely to have the older motherboard.

Bundles that are guaranteed to be hackable (as they were never distributed with the new/unhackable board):

GoW Red PSP Bundle
Star Wars Bundle
Daxter Bundle (2000 series Grey model)

And, early releases of the Madden Blue PSP Bundle. I have a SW and a Madden PSP, both hacked. The SW PSP can also make pandora batteries...which is a good thing.

Since the PSP3000 is unhackable at the moment, if I were you, I'd wait a little and buy a PSP Go while you're at it

(also gonna be unhackable, you will just have the newer device instead, which will be hacked eventually I hope)

some psp 3000 is temporarily hackable, as long as the firmware stay below 5.03 and you can't turn it off completely

Actually new custom firmware has been made that will work on a PSP3000.

I found a "Star Wars Entertainment Pack" which comes with a Ceramic White PSP Slim (2000) and a copy of Star Wars Battlefront: Renegade Squadron. Can anyone comfirm this as the "Hackable Star Wars Bundle" i havn't seen any other Star Wars bundles so i'm assuming this is the real deal.

what? I don't understand what you're saying, i know you can play ISOs on a Hacked PSP. I was asking whether the bundle i was pointing out was indeed the hackable v2 motherboard.
