Hacking Ar Media Edition and Ar Max Duo save format question.

Ok they both extract saves in .duc format. Except AR Media Editions is .DUC instead of .duc which is what max duo extracts. I only have an Ar Media Edition... So I extracted a save with it for Animal Crossing Wild World and tried editing it with Animal Map but it didn't work because its .DUC I guess? I tried renaming x.duc but that didn't work either...does anybody have a solution? Thanks.
