What, exactly, did you do? Are you part of the Chinese team that released this? Did you work alongside Yifan Lu to create HENkaku. Please clarify.

I was quite happy with HENkaku as a homebrew solution, but it was obvious from a couple of things posted in the usual places that ultimately piracy would occur. It would actually be super easy to add AP to new games that would simply require that the system on which the game is being played is at 3.61 or higher, so this is unlikely to impact new Vita game development.

The only one who could confirm this didn't came from a devkit is the uploader himself by uploading another decrypted game, favorably a big title like killzone

yeah, not even 'ap' just simply new encryption keys, which is normal to change with 3ds and ps3, we still got them, although both both it was a while until we could decrypt newer games...

if the original chinese hacker is telling the truth, yes it is from a cart.
people on vitahacks said the eboot looks like a dev eboot though, so, who knows. but i'm hopeful.

i agree, it would be a big risk, lose your job and legal action if caught - and the game will come out in chinese anyway (many japanese vita games do) - so, i don't see the point of a leak.

if this happened first, and we never saw that adventure time thing, i don't think anyone would assume it's a dev leak.

tbh, I agree with BasedIndex. The chances for a dev build of some small game / shovelware from a small company being leaked are already insanely low - it would be a miracle if this happened with a big title from a big company. Not to mention, if that happened, the guy who did that has pretty much his career ruined.

I wasn't calling that person out for not knowing how to code, I haven't written code myself since Sinclair Basic was a thing. I was calling them out for their implication that the community as a whole, specifically including them, was somehow responsible for enabling piracy/backup-loading/call-it-what-you-will on the Vita. HENkaku and its consequences is the result of hard work by a talented few, something the "ZOMG! free warez!" crowd rarely considers.

Your work as a translator is hugely valuable, and I hope you get the opportunity to localise some Vita stuff, that's actually worthwhile work of which you should be proud.

I know this random but I will say it anyway. Downgrading from 3.61 to 3.60 and lower can be done, unfortunately the process is to tedious.

I have not tried it because I only have one psvita, and I won't take the chance of screwing up.

The tutorial is hard to understand especially doing the hex edit... I contacted the op.. To see if the op can do a video tutorial or contact the site admin. To explain it better.

haha yeah of course it is true, but people have been trying to get into the vita for ages now, and only really thanks to one anonymous tip about the webkit exploit they got in.
good that we can get into the vita and yes, see more about it which could lead to more entry points, but i wouldn't be surprised if this is the only and final entry point.

of course i hope for more though.
