Are they registered as separate games so that you can play the original or the enhanced version or are they registered as an upgrade of the original forcing you into the enhanced version?

No idea why you'd want both versions but the digital upgrade just functioned as an update for my Sw1 cart. The tile updated to show 'Switch 2 version'.
Not sure how it is if you own both cartridges since the Switch 2 version has the upgrade on the cart, maybe it shows both tiles.

I'm wondering if they patched out any of the glitches i use in BOTW. I already found one in the 1.8 (not enhanced) version. If they have and they also prevent play of the non-enhanced version I will probably skip it for now. I'm enjoying the reduced load times even without the visual upgrades.
