Anyone Know How To Fix This?

for some reason, sd cards will not recognize the icon (ico) I have for them. here's what my autorun.inf looks like:

icon=supercard dstwo.ico
label=SuperCard DSTWO

the label works, just not the icon. I've checked if there's a typo, and there isn't. sometimes the icon appears, but most of the time I doesn't. it's affecting all sd cards. it doesn't seem to affect usb devices.

This is a weird problem with how Windows caches icons.

If that doesn't work, you can try installing Xenview.

I've narrowed down the problem to a windows 10 security update. it's not uninstallable either. my parents' pc does the same thing (no icon).

Ah, yeah. It's probably there to mitigate USB malware that utilizes the autorun file to automatically execute upon insertion.

is there a way around it? what's odd is that the autorun function displays the correct label, just not the icon.

Are other image formats supported besides ICO? I know UNIX-like systems support PNG, but I dunno about Windows. ICO files can contain malicious payloads through steganography, so it's probably being blocked.

other formats do not seem to work, so I guess I'm stuck with it being blocked?
