So, I don't have a modded Switch, and I still have the stock Joycons that, thus far, haven't even become victims of drift. However, since the release of 12.0.2, my right Joycon has been acting up. It's not often, but so far it's done something weird twice. The first occurrence happened when setting up a new wireless network. All of the face buttons (a, b, x, y, and Home) stopped functioning entirely. I was able to hold down Home to open the sub-menu only once, and then it stopped working as well. Ultimately, I had to re-attach the right Joycon to get it to work properly again.
The second occurrence just happened while playing Rise. I accepted a quest, but put my Switch to sleep to go do something. When I came back, the system was acting like I was holding down on the right stick. This time, re-attaching it didn't solve the problem, but going back into sleep and coming back did.
So, I'm of the mind that sleep mode is breaking things, and I'm wondering if anyone else is experiencing this, because I really want to rule out hardware issues. It's really looking like a firmware problem, though, considering how randomly it's been happening.
