Hacking Anyone else giving up on Maxconsole?

I do like MC for their constant news spouts, but the bias is incredibly annoying. Ad companies should have ZERO influence on how a company operates, but it seems money reigns supreme over at MC.
I feel exactly the same way. MC can be a good source of information, I appreciate them for that.
But when it comes to hardware... meh, no need to repeat what's already been said.

GBAtemp is and will always be honest and unbiased. Because we're just simple guys who want to tell and read the truth. We have absolutely zero interest in lying, we make no money and there's zero company behind us. Plain simple...
Anyone who has ever been in the staff/magazine staff/etc. knows that there is no big secret and we're just here to serve our members.

im sure thats why gbatemp is very popular.

I visit MC daily but just to read the headlines, and most of the time I find some bias in those too. I don't care, since other sites are my main news resources, but I go there because sometimes I see an interesting news.

Then what is www.gbatemp.net/pie for...?

Q~

Maxconsole is paid by Divineo.
That's why I feared GBATemp would take the same direction when I saw them start to post so much about the DS-X, last year when it was announced. Divineo corrupts nearly everything they touch. I haven't visited Maxconsole in several months and I don't miss a thing.

MaxConsole has one really great benefit (Dark_Alex) and for this (Dark_Alex) they are quite important (Dark_Alex). Also, their forum for the psp and the psp's ps1 emu are the best. but since that is psp related i digress.

Well I mainly use Maxconsole for RSS news since they cover most of the *ahem* pirate scene of gaming..

I used to have tehskeen on RSS but they're really inconsistent with news updates often taking a few weeks off before letting people know that they lost internet access or some shit like that..

The first time I noticed their quirky ways was when the new Slot-1 devices came out. They were totally loving the M3 and divineo as a combination. You can even see on their site right now that divineo has a tight noose around MC's testicles.

#3 - The glowing review of the non-upgradeable Cyclowiz days before it's released:

http://www.maxconsole.net/?mode=news&newsid=13974

Maxconsole doesn't even mention that the Cyclowiz isn't "upgradeable", not once, not even under "cons", while they panned the Wiinja just days earlier for the same thing.

Here are some choice quotes from the review:

according to this i can tell you something that might be interesting.
Last week - short after the fist chip (wiinja) was announced - i visited maxconsole some times a day (for checking whether there are interesting updates).
Wednesday i think there came that "First Ever Wii Modchip REVIEW - CycloWiz for Wii!!!" - article (at the top of the page).
And maybe you know that the newest articles at maxconsole are always post at the top of that page. When an even newer article comes out the others move down in direction of the bottom of the page. (i think there are 23 articles altogether on the first page). So article 24 moves to the second page (where the news number 24-46 are) and so on, so the sequence is always the same.
The interesting or strange thing here was, that wednesday the REVIEW was at the top of that page and thursday (when a lot more news came) the REVIEW was still at the top of the page!!!!!!! Then i browsed to the second news page (24-46) and the article at the top was still the REVIEW!!!!!
So they posted it twice that it is definitely at the top so that everybody who is interesting in modchips first reads the pro-cyclowiz article.....

That's really not nice!

This is nothing new. Most news/review sites sticky their reviews to the top. It'll show on multiple pages to get more views. It's a review of a chip, so it's a legit reason to sticky it. You can see they've done the same for various other reviews.

It's not new that they've only linked to Divineo for buying parts. If you truly wanted to order from them, just go to www.divineo.com and don't use MC's referral.

i stick to maxconsole for psp related apps as dark alex releases on mc first, but for most ds/wii stuff i stick here.

if you think maxconsole is bad, don't even bother with ps3newz/ps2ownz. they steal stuff from other sites such as maxconsole and their advertiser bias is huge
