My left joycon started drifting and since I have emunand installed I cannot ask Nintendo for help. Tried cleaning dust but that was a very temporary solution lasting about a day at most. I either have to buy replacement parts and risk putting them in myself (very poor motor coordination) or simply buy a single joy con or pair (in my country, they're only sold together).

I checked out aliexpress to see what they've got. Joy cons are expensive, as expected, and are kind of a must considering I play in handheld mode most of the time. Wireless controllers, on the other hand, come in a large variety and are generally much cheaper. I think I may want 2-3 of these for docked multiplayer with friends.

As for replacement parts, these are cheap but are sold in 5-10 pieces, with many of the reviews claiming they didn't help (dubious, but possible). Really long wait time (~40 days).

So, has anybody got experience with third party controllers for the Switch? What is the risk of the console bricking using any of them?

i used to go out to the recycling center every couple weeks and look at the crts and other electronics people would drop off. Usually screens were broken or severely scratched from being tossed around. Did find a good one here and there, but never anything like a 1080i widescreen crt.

Is it piracy if it was released for free? Not in my opinion, but I also think it's not piracy if buying it isn't owning it, and it's not piracy if you can't buy it from the original creators anymore.

Free release can have loopholes where they still make money through ads
