A friend wants to mod her switch compatible with the RCM exploit
For easier booting/rebooting I want to enable autoRCM on her switch.

Is there any risk doing this? Do you recommand it?

If anything, there is less risk as you aren't slowly wearing away at the contacts in the joycon rail by having to use a jig all the time. Just backup boot0 and boot1 to make sure you can restore them if you ever want to disable AutoRCM. There is an option in Hekate to do that.

So i can't just turn off auto rcm in the sxos software ?.
You should not be using SX OS.

I generally don't recommend it because it's not possible to boot fully stock OFW with AutoRCM. So, there could be a risk of ban when playing legit games online, it's something Nintendo could detect in a future firmware update if they wanted to, even if they don't check for it currently.

No risk, only attention to the battery level. Autorcm drain battery constantly.

I believe that was fixed in Hekate a long time ago, so as long as you're using Hekate it should not be a problem.

You will have battery issues when you inevitably forget to charge your switch for a couple weeks and the battery dies completely.

but on the plus side you'll be able to get your GBATEMP post count up with another thread
