So, I finally decided to mod my wii a month back, and surprise surprise, I messed up, using the quick solder method.

Now that whole area is covered in brown serin core, and I really can't apply any other modchip there (thank god my wii still works, nothing's shorted.)
So, which would be my best option? I know I can:

Pay 70 dollars to have it repaired, and then another 30 for someone to install it for me?

Pay 80 dollars for a Wlip to be shipped to Texas.

Find another modchip that DOESN'T use any of the same points as the wiikey.

Or have someone solder any other modchip using alternate points, for example, on the pins of the chip.

Which do you recommend, and which modchip would be easiest to use?

Thanks!

Yes! Do this! Wlip is not reliable, first option is more expensive, and there are no other modchips that uses not any of the same points as WIIKEY. Make sure there are no shorts, as well.

One moral of this lesson: Quicksolder is evil. Wire install FTW

I'd get a YAOSM this time around. The Wiikey has given me too much trouble.

Thanks, I'll be sure to do that.

By chance, do you know of any reliable modchippers that could do this for me? (in the Dallas area?)
