I finally got a 3DS and my Acekard2i should arrive in the mail today.

I'm already totally familiar with DS homebrew and emulators, from owning an R4 and a DS lite for the past several years. I was just wondering if there were any DSi-exclusive homebrew apps or games that I should know about.

My other question was about the DSiWare. Is there currently any way to run DSiWare using a flash card?

I appreciate any assistance.

DSi only homebrew can only be run via a Cyclo DSi on the 3DS. On the DSi, there are also a couple of DSiWare based exploits, but they can only run on an old system software version, and the games can't be downloaded on that version anymore (i.e. to use that method you would have to have a DSi with an old system software version AND already have one of those games).

In other words, the only way is with the Cyclo DSi. But there isn't a huge amount of DSi-mode homebrew, I think the Doom and Quake ports have been updated and a couple of other games perhaps, but not much. It's not really worth buying one of the most expensive flashcarts just for DSi-mode homebrew.

And no there is no way to pirate DSiWare, thank goodness.

That was pretty much the answer I was looking for. I knew the DSi had a stronger processor, but also knew that any enhanced DSi stuff would just be gimmicky crap that takes advantage of the cameras on it. Saves me a few hours of searching.

Cameras cannot be used. DSi enhanced homebrew only has faster processor and more RAM access. Also has SD slot access I think, but that's not too important with the Cyclo seeing as it has a built in micro SD slot.

the dsi-ware exploits can be run from any dsi firwmare, including 1.4.3. the thing here is that you can not copy the exploit from the sd card to nand on 1.4.2+, and the exploit must be in the nand for it to work. i think you were trying to get the right information out there but you worded it incorrectly.

the camera CAN be used for properly dumped dsi roms running on the ievo. the only thing blocked on the ievo is wifi because the exploited game does not have wifi, and thus anything run after that game code runs will be running with hardware lockouts.

some projects have been recently compiled with the latest libnds which allows them to run in dsi-mode. some of these projects are ds-mode projects that are not coded specificially for the dsi. the following list are projects made for the dsi and not the projects recompiled for dsi-mode/dsiwarehax support.

I meant in homebrew, seeing as that was the topic of discussion here. And by "cannot be used", I mean "have not (yet) been reverse engineered, and so there is no public code to make use of them".
