Hey!

I have been playing the base game of animal crossing and understand there are now updates that can be installed.

Is there any reason to not update the game?

thanks!

I heard the latest update removes the duplication and money tree exploit, so if you use that then stay with lower patches. Other than that there's really ain't much in the latest update.

you get the event, like tom is gonna be the easter event, if you dont update you wont have it

I can’t go online, so I wouldn’t be able to trigger the Easter event right?

At the very least you'll be able to play with your friends locally.
That is - as I had to find out - a requirement: The same Update.

ok, thank you!

New items, events, and features will be introduced via free updates. In addition, if you're playing with somebody else, whether it's local or online, both Switch systems need to have the same ACNH update installed. For these reasons, updating to the latest version (1.1.1 as of the time of this post) is highly recommended.

When it comes to timed events like the Bunny Day event, it should be possible to activate these kinds of events without connecting to Nintendo's online services. For now though, you're right that these kinds of events require an internet connection.
