SX OS should be depreciated, given the uncertainty of future support for the CFW. Switching to Atmosphere is recommended.
Yeah yeah yeah. We don't need people stopping into SX OS threads and talking that way. You're not helping anybody. For now SX OS works great. All games function properly and so does our external drives. If we want help switching to atmosphere then we will ask you. Until atmosphere supports loading directly from a USB drive it will always be inferior. Even if SXOS never gets updated I will always keep a USB drive and SD card dedicated to it. For it's ease of use and massive storage. Please troll somewhere else

First, I stepped into this thread to talk about how one should never install NSP files directly off the SD card because of how time and space-inefficient it is to do so, regardless of one's CFW. Second, given the current state of TX, the best advice one could give to someone using SX OS is to at least start planning the migration from SX OS to Atmosphere. Third, I am not the one who brought up TX's legal troubles and the death of SX OS.
SX OS does not work on 11.0.1, and it is very possible SX OS won't be updated for future system versions.
Games made with newer software development kits will require system versions higher than 11.0.0 in the future. If/when those system versions come out without SX OS support, migrating to Atmosphere will be required.
I didn't enter this thread to talk about migrating to Atmosphere from SX OS, and I'm not the one who brought it up.
A CFW that does not support the latest system version and does not receive support updates for newer system versions is the inferior CFW, but I didn't come here to talk about which CFW is superior. That quickly devolves into bickering, and I'm not interested.
That's great, but you won't have that option with newer games, updates, and DLC if SX OS does not receive future support updates.

Fair enough. Feel free to ask if you have issues. I think externals are the most efficient way. ExFAT has no issues. They can be hot swapped as well. I use a 1TB SSD, SD reader or Flash drive with an OTG cable in handheld too. And MTP to manipulate the internal SD. Those Switch SD slots are fragile and FTP sucks. Once setup the MTP makes the switch internal function like a Flash drive basically. The second MTP app linked (nxmtp) will let you access your internal nand in read only mose. You can copy saves and firmware updates off of your NAND to your computer. Onlly truly legal way to get them.

Yes, it is speculation, but it's not speculation without evidence. I don't know what the future holds, and I don't know what support (if any) will happen, but we can see the writing on the wall. TX has never gone this long without a support update, let alone a support update for such a minor system version update, we are all aware of TX's legal issues, and things have only gotten worse (website issues, Stealth Mode failures, etc.). As I've been saying since the beginning: At best, TX's future is uncertain, and one should begin planning a migration to Atmosphere.

That is true, assuming the user is on 11.0.0, and assuming games that have soft version requirements for 11.0.1 are patched. However, in the not-so-distant future, newer games will require system versions higher than 11.0.0.
Yes, and that is the reason for my advice. It's looking like migrating to Atmosphere is going to be needed in the future, and I recommend people start planning for it.

It happen before with gateway on the 3ds...was a great product but didn´t receive updates and free tools got easier and get updates.
Sx os is excelent and I hope it get an update soon......but...
I have an issue, I want to use youtube (in my banned switch), i got a patched version but gives me error Code 2-ARVHA-0000, allready change date& time and stereo to mono and still the error, I read that some apps erase the user profile and can avoid the error, but do not work on sx os....(goldleaf, checkpoint) awoo installer too....
So I´m interested to see If is someway to have the best of both worlds (SX vs Atmosphere)

No, we don't know what the future holds. I agree with you. I have said repeatedly, including in this thread, that the future of TX is uncertain. But we can see that TX is having major legal issues, major resource issues (Stealth Mode, etc.), and hasn't put out a support update for a minor system version update (11.0.1) in nearly two months. We know what that likely means. Whether or not that ends up being true, it is recommended that SX OS users at least begin planning a migration to Atmosphere. This is good advice.
I didn't "preach this" after the 11.0.0 update.
The lack of a support update for 11.0.1, in addition to the legal issues, makes it very possible SX OS is dead or near-dead.

I'm fully aware of the Gateway situation. And guess what? It still works. Up t 11.6 with a frankenfirmware EmuNANDetup. Then i boot to SysNAND for the other games. Allowing 2 SD cards.. WIN. Dont believe the hype. Its not worthless. Dual boot son! Same situation eventually for sxos. But don't say it already happened. Trolls..
The YouTube app on the piracy app works fine.
It's never a good sign when the person defending SX OS starts comparing it to Gateway.
