What's an ideal program for animations?
I used to have Jasc Animation Shop, but the quality is really limited.
Are there any other programs better than Jasc?

I don't know what kind of animating you're meaning, but i think flash is good.
for stickfigures (which i use), use pivot

Oh, silly me! Forgot to mention.

I'm thinking of making animations with sprites from games, if that helps

You could use toonboom. Used in college, great and deep program. You could also use PS and go frame by frame.

Pivot 3.0 Beta have a function for adding sprites. But it's the beta so it have a ton of bugs in it.
