One more question: does anyone know how to change a villager's birthday, or at the very least, the birthday that is written on the back of a villager pic?

Does anyone know where the various player eye and hair colors are stored? I was poking around in the 'Player' folder but I couldn't find what I was looking for.

This thread is sort of dead but it's worth posting I guess

Has anybody found KK slider audios in the romfs?
I'm going to take a stab in the dark and say they are located in the GardenSound.bcsar, but can anybody confirm this?

I checked the contents of the bcsar file and every other sound is located inside of it.
No idea how to unpack and repack it though

Hey, yesterday I finally managed to hack my EU version of New Leaf.!

Yeah, now I have a question. How can you change villagers names without messing everything up? I opened the name file with a HEX editor and changed everything I want. The problem is that when I'm ingame, there are just these questionmark symbols. Is there something I have to mind when I change the names in the script file? Thanks for your reply, Cheers!

Did you skip the dots while you were editing the npc name file? They aren't periods, they're special characters that separate individual letters. So for instance, putting "Isabelle" wouldn't work, it'd have to be "I.s.a.b.e.l.l.e." if that makes sense.

Yes, that's exactly what I did... But I guess I have to look if the name is as long as I.s.a.b.e.l.l.e and then I can change it. There have to be three dots space between the names I guess.

But anyways... I have a second question. Do you know how to change the name of fish for example? Because I want to change the name from sea bass to golden bass. Any ideas?

Anyone know if editing the soft keyboard on that is possible?
I guess not because how integrated it is.

well it would be nice to just have the keyboard only
I searched for the keyboard in any file, but I only found pieces of textures, not a single clue of a keyboard... Sorry. Oh, but I found all the other stuff such like the item icons and the emotion icons :)

keyboard location:
RomFS\Layout\Swkbd\message

Now he have a tool who can edit msbt so it's more easy.
That's actually pretty cool. Hey, Mega-Mew... Do you have an idea how to edit the game's code, so I can edit the players speed for example? I have a file called exefs.bin, but I don't know how I can extract code.bin out of it. I guess I have to edit code.bin to change the players speed, right? Cheers!
