Hacking Am I screwed from ever using SoftMii?

I have a 3.3v1 wii (The good, non corrupt one), but I installed a patched IOS 51 a while back as well as wiigators cIOS 249 for gamma.... How do I remove this for a SoftMii installation....

Also, if I ever did manage to install softmii, would I be able to play the conduit thats coming out in a few months, given they retain the 3.4 firmware and IOS's??

Although we are long overdue for a system menu update....

you can just install softmii with the things you already installed

and the game should work if you set skip disc update

but you probably will need to downgrade to 3.2

Just install the softmii package over the top following all the instructions, this will remove the un-needed items and install cioscorp etc... This if you enable the settings in preloader will skip any disc update checks allowing you to play games with updates on them unless they require certain extras. If they do wait a few weeks and one of the genius coders on here will discover a way to incorporate the updates without screwing you for back ups. The key sometimes with updates is patience. An example of this was the error 002. Wasnt long before there were fixs available.

i don't think you have to deinstall erverything, i had a 3,4e with backuploader gamma @ 249. i just started from fase 2 at the softmii guide and erverything worked out well(have done 15 virgin wii'n mine was the only one with the loader installed) but i do not know about your Cios 51, but from what i understand the programs in the softmii package wont care. cos you'll first downgrade to 3.2 then cioscorp will update your cios's.

also new games don't require a newer system menu, just die ios's. those you can install manualy when they come out.
so 3.2 firmware with newest ios's (in this case they will be Cios's then i guess) is a up to date system to play games

Alright, but im assuming that since I can still install wads that I wont have to install cios 16 to use the custom wad manager... But what about the cIOS 249 rev 7....

In the cIOS and IOS downgraders it basically told me that I needed waninkokos, but I have wiigators. How would I replace one with the other? Can I just overwrite it with Waninkokos, or do I have to uninstall Wiigators and install Waninkokos for the downgrade. If so, how would I go about replacing the files??

EDIT - I looked at the CIOSCORP and it would look like im getting all my fancy ios's installed, so I need not worry about those. Yea XD

And just install IOS16 and follow all steps

I understand that wiigator does not have a c/IOS remover, but I am saying that I have the cIOS that comes bundled in his gamma pack...

Would I be able to overwrite it by installing it regularly in the WAD menu, or would I have to uninstall WiiGator's, and then install Waninkoko's? Anyways, thats all im going to finish off with tonight... Its 2:45 am where I live, and I want to sleep. Good night GbaTemp and thanks for the help

The cIOS file I installed was from the cIOS installer WiiGator created and I dont think I can remove it. How do I replace the darn thing safely....
