Uh, that sounds like it will still be trying but just won't be able to find the access point it's looking for. BTW, did you know your wifi router is constantly sending out "waves" even when nothing is using it?

Ugh, that's bad. Plus I see my system is actually hotter than usual since I let wiiconnect24 ON. So, bad solution this is.

As for the second part of your message, I do not have a wifi router.

I assumed you did, since you said you were able to setup a valid connection on the wii and then modify the SSID name.
