Well, it isn't "too fast" for me. I'm using a 16GB card full of games and homebrews and it really helps a lot.

Far as I know, the previous releases also had super fast scrolling speed.. only difference is that the previous versions had longer loading times when you scroll to your list the first time after a boot.. when you have done so and scroll trough that list again its super fast.
while version 1.8.1 almost doesn't need the first scroll to load.. well it does need to load but it just loads a lot faster.. .. I tried it to scroll down the list on 1.8.1 first and then scroll back.. the 2nd scroll had the same speed as all previous releases on the 2nd scroll

No, they didn't.

Check the changelog as well, it's even stated that 1.8.x sped up the scroll speed (by updating libfat I think it was).

That is exactly what I said, they speed up the scroll speed.. it needs less time to load

No, it's the scrolling speed.

I've been using AKAIO since 1.5, the speed in 1.8.x is a huge difference.
