Hacking AKAIO 1.7 stuck on yellow loading screen

I was having the same problem and I tried downloading new loaders (But I didn't know the new loader address, since the old loaders subdomain here doesn't redirect and the site was down for some reason) which made things worse!

I just completely deleted my AKAIO and re-copied the new version (1.7) over and everything works just fine now.
I've never had to use special software to format my SD for my DS or any other portable device.. I've got a Transcend Class 6 8GB card.

I had the exact same problem as described in this thread - and one thing I've noticed is that multiple users have stated that a fresh install of AKAIO on their respective card has resolved the problem (outside of clone cards). So.... it's a setting issue.

And I found the setting: 'Cheat code usage'

Test 1
- Known working homebrew .nds file
- AKAIO 1.6 RC2
- 'Cheat code usage = DISABLED'
- RESULT: working

Test 2
- Known working homebrew .nds file
- AKAIO 1.7
- 'Cheat code usage = DISABLED'
- RESULT: NOT WORKING (stuck @ white screen after yellow "LOADING")

Test 3
- Known working homebrew .nds file
- AKAIO 1.7
- 'Cheat code usage = ENABLED'
- RESULT: working


NOTE: None of the above required any reformatting or updating of any loaders. This SDHC was formatted about 3-4 months ago and all I did this morning (much earlier before seeing this post) was mount the SDHC, delete the _aio directory, and copy over the NEW 1.7 _aio directory. I then went through and set things up the way I desired, not knowing I would encounter this issue by doing so.

Are you suggesting that using the Panasonic/SD Association formatter is bad or not useful advice?

I believe it's not necessary to format your card as that is a filesystem thing, not anything procedurally useful in terms of remedying something to do with AKAIO specifically (except maybe for deleting the _aio directory as a result).

It's a valid suggestion in terms of removing variables. However, unlike a computer, a flash drive (a dumb drive like a flash stick or SDHC in this case) does not and cannot contain any hidden or cached directories that aren't viewable. So... it's not like formatting a storage device for an OS install.

In all cases (if you had, at any point in time, AKAIO working on your device) removing the _aio directory should be good enough as that is what is driving this experience - nothing else.

The format option that is included in Windows doesn't handle all MicroSD cards properly.
This can lead to problems ranging from incorrect settings to read issues and if I'm not mistaken, damage to the MicroSD card itself on occasions.

Again, incorrect.
File attributes are file attributes. It doesn't matter the medium they are on.
If your OS isn't set to display Hidden/System files, then they won't be shown.

Well... that and the akmenu4.nds file on the root of your card.....
(Not sure if the akmenu4.nds file is updated with each revision, I would assume so)

None of the above has anything to do with AKAIO working on a card in terms of the issue described. It's like saying you should just get a new car because your current one won't start - still doesn't fix the problem.

In this case, everyone reporting this issue has, at one point in time, used AKAIO on their device.

And in this case, the format of the storage media (not the enabling card itself) is of no consequence because it was already working, before.

Not sure why you think I'm "incorrect" regarding table formatting in a filesystem in regards to formatting, etc. and hidden files.

The logic in "formatting your shit" stems from old-hat OS problems (Windows anything, OS 8/9) - simply because there was a TON of file structure, etc. and wiping your drive clean was good enough.

In every case of every user using an SDHC card for their enabling device, formatting the card has nothing to do with how AKAIO works - save for the simple fact that it is able to be copied, the table of the FS is logical to inner workings of AKAIO, and the permissions on the media itself are set to allow I/O.

So.... incorrect? Nothing to really be wrong about since you're arguing a point I didn't even make.

This issue - it has nothing to do with formatting cards, etc. etc. etc. Period.

any acekard 2i with a hwid of 80 is a clone

rhs openly admitted to selling them by stating that they could not see the difference. the difference is that its a damn clone. rhs lied to you, sold you a clone, and never told you it was a clone when they knew the entire time.

there was a very long debate where rhs claims they are not clones. take it from someone who is in direct contact with team acekard and the akaio devs, the hw80 ak2i is a clone.

there i no reason to continue trying to help him get akaio 1.7 working on the clone, its a clone.

everyone should stop adding their suggestions for akaio and start giving suggestions for helping him get a legit replacement.
