Hacking AK2 on dealextreme

Hi, I want to buy an AK2 with a cheap and fast SD-Card.

I found these offerings on DE:

Can you tell if this is a real (not fake) AK2 and the latest version, if there are multiple ones?

I just ordered those exact two items for a friend, and received them last week. The Acekard was a 2.1 as advertised, and the microSD card was a Japanese Kingston as advertised.

As far as I know, the old stocks of Acekards have long since sold out, so your chances of getting anything other than a 2.1 are slim to none.

I have several Japanese Kingston 2GB microSD cards and have had no trouble with any of them with the Acekard 2.1. If you have to reformat it, make sure to use the Panasonic formatter.

On Friday night, I bought these exact two items. They're still in "Waiting for Supplier" status, but i expect that to change this week.
The chances of getting any"fake" AK2 is very slim, to none at all. The microSD card, though, you might be taking a chance with (as shown by the DX forum topics on the item), and might get a sub-par knockoff that will still work (and be a bit slower with it's read/write speeds), but just not be Japanese Kingston.

As it states SDHC support, which the other one doesn't. A post on the forum for the other one says it has SDHC support, but since it doesn't state so officially, you can't get a replacement if it doesn't have SDHC, unlike the one that actually states SDHC.

I know it's cheap and all but better to get it right on the first try eh

I recived mine from these this morning took 2 week but worth it at only $20. and it was to the UK. just hope it work on the Dsi..... great service will be ordering from them again soon

Unless you ordered an Acekard 2i (as opposed to an Acekard 2), it won't work on the DSi.

im sure its the AK2i on the cardbox box packing its got a sticker that say "DSi Compatilble" so better be! or they have just sent me a AK2 instead of the AK2i


EDIT------ relooking on the site, the AK2i card it say "DSi Compatilble" and one mine its say Ver 2.1 and its got a foil sort of sticker when the AK2i havnt think they sent out the wrong bloody card!

The label doesn't mean anything.
I ordered an acekard 2i from kickgaming and the card was label wrong.
It was an acekard 2 with an acekard 2i sticker on it that said dsi compatible.
When you put the flashcard in your DS you should read acekard 2 or acekard 2i depending on which card it is.
The ackard 2 is hold togerther with clips and the acekard 2i is glued together. (Look at the pics in the review section).
Kickgaming were nice and told me to keep the acekard 2 as a gift for the mistake and that they would ship the acekard 2i when they get new stock but now it's been more than a month and still waiting. They told me it was ship by airmail and it usually takes 5 to 15 business days but now it's 16 days so hopefully I will get it tomorrow. This damm card better works!
