Homebrew After a long break, HBC has stopped loading

A few years ago, I purchased a Wii and successfully modded it using ModMii. It worked perfectly and I was able to use all sorts of apps and emulators via the HBC. All was good.

Fast forward to today, I haven't used the Wii or even touched it in well over a year but I decided to boot it up to play some games. It still boots up fine and straight into the HBC like I set it to, but now instead of the list of homebrew apps its suck on the spinning loading wheel.

What gives? It's been so long since I tinkered with it, I'm kind of lost as to where to start to get it back to where I had it. Should I nuke everything and start from square one? Is there some sort of update I missed that lead to the HBC not being able to load? Any suggestions as to where to start to remedy this?

Is your connected sd or hdd corrupted or otherwise at its EOL?

You can resoftmod at any time using modmii as if it were a virgin, or u can drag and drop your syscheck.csv onto modmii.exe and it will tell you what to do https://gbatemp.net/threads/posting-a-system-check.300279/

Thanks! I'll definitely at least try checking out/replacing the USB flash drive ive been using for storage.

Also, weirdly enough, after i made this post yesterday I just left the wii running, stuck at the HBC screen with the spinning loading wheel. A few hours later I came back and the HBC menu was loaded and usable! Why would it take literal HOURS to load everything up?
