What game are you playing? I haven't noticed any noise, but the colors seem brighter on "bilinear" filter.

Geki-Oh: Shooting King you get jail bar / hash bar noise on the picture when bilinear and others are chosen.
Looks ok in wide screen.

I've probably asked this a dozen times already, but it's always a pain in the rump to upgrade Adrenaline on a PSTV using a flash drive for storage. I can get Adrenaline to run on the default 1GB of internal space, but when I switch over to the flash drive, no force on heaven or earth will let me run Adrenaline there. I've tried transferring the base game and the Adrenaline folder over to the flash drive beforehand, but all I get for my trouble is a "this file is corrupt; please reinstall" error.

Someone guide me through this. What specifically do I need to do to make this work? I'd really appreciate the help!

Edit: I had to revert to an earlier version of the installer; the new one doesn't play nice with flash drives. Keep this in mind before you attempt an update.

May just be the game has an overscan in it or something. It shows a few extra lines of pixels and the Graphic Filter is not calculating the screen size correctly. Have you tried to patch the game to PAL and see if the problem is still there. (worth a try to see if any of the values are detected for the fixes that are listed in psx2psp)

(I have a few ideas, now that I think of it, I remember Skull Monkeys wouldn't work on the psp emulator for the psp, maybe its the same for the vita?)

It does work since some years ago, you need to patch your original ripped ISO if you are doing your own eboot, or download the already prepared and compatible one.

I have tried the english patched version of Tales of Phantasia on every version of adrenaline and it doesnt work, also tried every pops option, and no luck yet.

Tales of Destiny Works
Tales of Phantasia Did not Work
Skull Monkeys Worked (psx2psp, the NTSC version with the Patch for the Protection) (couldn't get this to work on psp, and didn't know about a "patched" version)

Not the end of the road, try using the .ccd/.sub/.img format, when using psx2psp or try using ImpalerPSX to build the eboot file, if that fails play with the sub channel data try a few cloneCD options. I'll some of this later ... see results below:

(ImpalerPSX doens't build the file)
1. Clone CD with Regenerate Data Sectors (+Data Subchannel): Not Working
2. Clone CD Read Subchannel Data Only (no sub for audio): Not Working
(retrying with a rip from a original I made a while back, versus a downloaded version)
(second best option to original rip, download the v111 translated version, and burn it to cd, then you use the programs to rip the game to an image, to your computer)

3. "ultra iso" for .bin/.cue (PSX2PSP): Not Working
4. "ultra iso" for .bin/.cue (impalerPSX): ImpalerPSX doesn't build the file

Also Got a version from google, didn't work, probably not compatible, so you said you got popsloader working on the psp emu?

Brave Fencer Musashi is another game that gave me grief. It would go black after the title screen. Luckily, there is a fixed version available, but it didnt have an icon. I had to get the icon from the non working eboot and rebuild the eboot with it using PBP unpacker.

Solution that needs testing for Phantasia is to try another or previous version of the translation https://github.com/libretro/beetle-psx-libretro/issues/151 , guess I'll do that later. (Tales of Phantasia, a "Redump" image, or older translation version not tested)

Anyway, I'll check out the fix from Brave Fencer Too thanks.

Tales of Phantasia Eng 1.0 by Gemini WORKS on Adrenaline http://a0t.co/phantasia/download/

the v1.1.1 patch is by another group that one does not work, this one works, I used a dump of Phantasia from redump for my legal copy. The Link is for the Patch only no game downloads.

.
The Brave Fencer Musashi SLPS-01156 works great, problem is after you defeat Skullpion the screen fades to black it stock there no freeze, no glitch i can still active cwcheat menu without problem and when i use may old save date stock on Loading screen. That's problems of this game hope it help, looking forward for fix, this is the must memorable game for me. :D

http://psxeboots.com/pops-compatibility-list

1. First the obvious, Dragon Quest 8 required "impalerPSX" in order to boot when the eboot was built that was on psp, I have to verify it still boots on vita.
2. Braver Fencer Musashi the crash you describe also happens if you don't use "Simple POPstation GUI 3.00 BETA" to build the eboot

Skull Monkeys for exampled needed about 3 bytes deleted in the boot sector, it appears the way these programs load the .ELF (executable) into memory, also serves as a patch.

Tales of Phantasia v1.1.1 did a patch somewhere, maybe in the boot sector to fix a game engine freeze. (Version 1.0 from the group that released v1.1.1 translation patch crashes when sorting one of the encyclopedia's alphabethically, then the 1.0 version from Gemini that works, may freeze near the last boss if you don't skip an fmv, same game engine error v1.1.1 fixed, apparently.

(the GAMEIDs, you don't have to change when building the eboot, which seems to produce errors that serve as patches when building the eboot, the more correct version of that, is just to use another program to build the eboot)

Testing Tales of Phantasia v1.1.1, no I didn't test the patch on the redump version I grabbed or the 1.0 from the same release Group because I was busy with other things, but I guess I can go back and do that, and indicate the results (Chrono Cross was another really buggy PS1 game when converted to eboot, fortunately there's a psn version of that, not always the case).

Tested Tales of Phantasia 1.0 and 1.1.1 by Tales-Cless, (with simple pop gui 3.00 and psx2psp), only Tales of Phantasia 1.0 by Gemini Works ... ... ... ... Don't have any save files for Brave Fencer to try some known fixes, maybe see if it crashes at boot with one or another psx 2 psp program (using the original ntsc title ID, i know the japan title ID is a known boot fix for one or more of the versions of popsloader on the psp).

EDIT

Brave Fencer M. Not Working - crashes after the chapter 1 screen or in the fmv if you don't press a button to skip it, psx2psp and simple pops gui 3.00 (exactly as reported).............some gameIDs and stuff also tried, the only thing left is a patch or two, or perhaps blanking the video files that crash before you get in game.

Just a Foot Note:

1. Rebuilt Image - PSx CD-Gen (just the data image, fails to load after building with other tracks)
2. Blanked Video File? - some files
3. Other Patch - old ntsc 2 pal one

All Failed, needs a specific patch, it was good fun, all finished now!
