Good day people.

i was wondering that if its possible to add adhoc online functionality to Games with only Ad-Hoc. Like no infrastructure (PSN online) and just Ad-Hoc.

PSP had this thing back then, a pro adhoc client plugin, turns local games to online.

i was wondering if we can implement this to Vita, we could expand online activity and such..

though this wouldn't be possible at all or very hard to do that it would be impossible for people to do

There is XLink Kai, however, it requires a spare 2.4ghz network adapter. And while I was able to get it to recognize my Vita, I could not get any games to work with it (and the client was very prone to crashes). Using redhat's networkmanager to passthrough WiFi from my main PC out the Ethernet port to a spare laptop, I tried running xlink on both my thinkpad with linux and my old XP gaming laptop. No luck.

There is also AdHoc party, but it only works with PSP games through backwards compatibility, requires a PlayStation 3, and you need to get it from the UK PSN store since the American version was delisted.

I've heard of some alternatives like Yggdrasil and ZeroTier but those are for LAN connections coming from the same computer they're running on, not consoles.

Perhaps a kernel module directly on the Vita that intercepts ad-hoc networking calls and forwards them to a server would help.

Kethen is maintaining that project you mentioned, now it supports Adrenaline as well. Check out the latest release.

Probably supported games is as good as the original project. So for PSP games on VITA we are already set.

For VITA games, truly a new plugin and good ammount of reverse engineering time would be required. So possible it is! We just need people interested in doing the work.
