It depends. The most famous apps has a WAD file. They are shorcuts from the menu to the homebrew channel. They are called WADs or forwarder channels. You can install them via WadManager.

For example. USBloaderGX (a wii games loader) has a lot of WADs with diferent desings. But if you search for it you will find soon a trustable source, because a defective WAD is dangerous for the wii (tho i've never had any problem ccause normally is easy to find good wads). So you find the USBloaderGX WAD file you like the desing the most. You have to have a carpet on the root of your SD card named "WAD" (without the""). You put it there. You install WadManager (also on your SD card as any other app) and you start it via homebrew channel. You install it and thats it.

There are plenty of tutorials for WadManager. Even here. And also you can find trusty wads practically anywhere. Also here, and they are good. (I can´t give them to you because im level1 on the forum so i cant put links or archives).

That is for the most part. A lot of applications that doesnt have much attention doesnt have a wad. In fact i can answer you because i didnt find anywhere a wad for homebrew game called Wiitrouble. (Homebrew games launched via homebrew channel also can have their wad) so i joined this community to ask if someone coul do it. No one replied xD. (I did it myself then but im refining it before uploading it on the internet).

Thats all i have for you. Im not a pro. But I freed my wii 3 years from now and I can share the little I know. But you have to search for Wad files or forwarder channels to start knowing about that.

Which apps specifically ?

Like ElSena said, popular ones tend to have forwarders made for them. Emulators, hacks like Project M and CTGP, and basic homebrew apps have WADs that can be found with a Google search

Edit: You can also make your own forwarders if you're confident enough, with this link: CustomizeMii Tutorial

Better to build forwarder dols using modmii then injecting them into wads using customize mii

For the WiiTrouble one I did that. The creator of ModMii said this to a person in this forum and its pretty easy to follow his metod. And for customize mii there are also a lot of tutorials, but like i said, it can do a brick (an error for those who dont know) on the wii. A little one i think, ive never had one. But is easy to do. Not the first thing i woul do though. But if you want an specific wad and you dont find it then try.

Search for modmii and how to create a forwarder channel. There is a thread somewhere here

Your program does it way better than CustomizeMii.
What do you mean? To program it directly yourself? How?

That Dell data breach is worse than people probably realize....
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
When I worked for Dell we had access to data about military contracts and addresses for high ranking people.

I personally handled a call from the second highest person at Raytheon. That call bothered me a lot... The guy was nice and smart what bothered me was the way management basically just blew him off instead of going the extra mile to help him.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
In the end that call ended up costing Dell millions in lost contracts with Raytheon, and really the issue could have been solved for like 450 bucks lol

sometimes I wonder why anyone would ever buy mega man x legacy collection 2
  • NinStar @ NinStar:
I always thought that capcom shuffled the games in these collection, but apparently they are all in chronological order, which makes legacy collection 2 worthless
