It's as risky as restoring a NAND backup. Hell, it works fine. DSiWareHax is capable of writing/reading NAND. Iirc, before we had dgTool for DSiWareHax, we had to dump the NAND manually, edit it with AutoFirm (just like for hardmod users) and restore it back.

Actually, you're wrong. You CAN backup and restore the NAND via DSiWareHax.

Yes, you can do that since you do have a NAND backup.
