FUCK this, im buying a wiikey... I used to have such high hopes for Cyclowiz but they let me down.

The cyclowiz isn't a crap chip, it does *ALMOST* everything the website said. It has allowed me to play 30+ backup wii games.. i believe I got my 50 dollars worth. So what, there is not a update and they were prob lying about the update the whole time. You have at least got 30 wii games that are playable. So if a game doesn't work in the future then buy whatever modchip is out then and upgrade. I'm pretty happy with my chip

im sure people wouldnt ave bought it ive they knew from the start it would only play 30 games

you have the wiikey that plays every game, and every future game, and is upgradeable, then you have the cycloshit that plays 30 games, isnt upgradeable and the people who made it lie to their customers

your tellin me if you were told this from the start, you wouldnt order somethin else?

I'm ordering my chip on Monday... cyclo is losing a customer if they havent announced the update by then... wiikey here I come.

well im emailing the shop ive got mine from asking for a refund, its already soldered in but still i want my money back or i am disputing the credit charge and i advise everyone else who has a cyclowiz to get thier money back and buy a wiikey
That's not the way it works. You ordered a product and it is not defective. You got what you paid for, and the retailer has done their part. Sure, you can ask the shop to accept a return, but it's THEIR decision. You are not entitled to any special treatment because a better product came along.

Yeah his kind of logic makes no sense.

You bought a product, as advertised. You got what you paid for, regardless of what else comes along. If you wanted other features then you should have waited to buy something else.

Yup, I apologise for saying i will get my money back by refuting the charge on the credit charge, I've totally changed my opinion on this, Its our own fault for buying a first gen chip and man i cant complain, im a pirate and ive defiently got my moneys worth with this chip. Im sorry for being such an ass.

Ya Im satisified with the cyclowiz. I mean its works a good deal of the time. The only real problem ive had is with cod 3.

Yeah it's most likely the issue of getting the update to work 100% of the time..

I mean it would make them look worse to release a new firmware that potentially bricks a certain percentage of CycloWiz's

But I still hate that switch though it's necessary for this modchip

Sorry for the lack of news lately. While we didn't update the site we tried to keep up with support mails as we wanted to wait for something concrete for the site. We clearly underestimated the time needed to create the upgrade disc and we apologize for that.

First of all, solving the slowdown issue was only possible by changing the whole firmware structure. Technically speaking, up until now the chip was becoming transparent just before disc started to spin. It was not possible to use this method while using full speed reading. This major structure change lead to some other problems that had to be resolved and a lot of testing and debugging had to be performed. That alone took much more time than what we expected, but we now have an elegant solution, the chip becomes transparent as soon as the disc is initialized. The other major challenge was making an upgrader with a GUI, what we didn't plan to do at first. While it sounds simple, the complexity of the task was not properly evaluated.

We are happy to say than both the new firmware and the upgrader are entering testing phase. While we still have to fix a couple of minor bugs and test it on several consoles, we are really close to the public release.

We already sent the current version of the upgrader to a few respected sceners. One video of the upgrader in action on a first generation CycloWiz has already been put online here. We know that people don't want videos or reviews, but be assured that it's only a question of days : the testers are free to release the alpha upgrader should we not provide a final upgrader within one week. We'll keep you updated daily until it's released. We hope this clarifies the situation.

Hey modderfokker did you make the cyclowiz?

How can it take them that long to produce a new firmware when Chiip, which was previously based on Cyclowiz, had 3 or 4 updates in two weeks?

With all the open-source code floating around now, it seems to me that they just took the Wiip/Chiip/WiiFree code (which is better than their current code) and used that, rather than create a whole new firmware themselves.

I really hope Team Cyclops isn't screwing themselves and screwing others, I'd love to see an update happen, but I'm still skeptical.

Cadex is adding DVD upgrades to Chiip soon, which probably means changing the way it's installed, but it'll be SWEET when that happens. If there's any chip I completely trust right now, it's Chiip.
