While I haven't homebrewed my switch, i do know a lot about homebrew.

I know that in order to not get banned, you have to, turn off your wifi, delete your wifi setting (i think), then enter airplane mode, although i'm sure there are a couple more steps.

Is it possible to make a button (digital or physical) that automatically does that?

Like a safety button for homebrew, where you push it, and then you can homebrew as much as you want, then you can push it to enter normal switch mode.

My bother and I sometimes play online, i don't want to run the risk of getting our accounts banned.

While i do think this would be a cool idea, i think the best solution for me, is to buy a new switch, and use the old one for modding and such.

I'm pretty sure the only way to do that is emuNAND/emuMMC. Having a clean boot online vs homebrew "dirty" boot.

This idea is crazy but not impossible, i'm no expert but I think the future of switch hacking still has so much potential.

The closest thing you'll ever have to this is emuNAND. Boot OFW and go online as you please. Boot CFW with EmuNAND, and keep your EmuNAND offline. Play with homebrew to your heart's content.

Assuming you don't do anything egregious with Atmosphere (i.e. multiplayer cheating, installing NSPs with sigpatches, setting custom user icons, ect.) you're not likely to get banned from using it anyway. It is still possible, but not particularly likely. Again, there isn't no risk whatsoever, but I think the scaremongering is a bit overblown.
SXOS and ReiNX however, may very well have strong ban risks in their simple usage.

Thanks for the support everyone!

To be honest, i've been in a situation with a bricked console, it was heartbreaking for me, and i usually don't have the money for a replacement.

so when it comes to hacking and modding, i want to be as safe as possible, especially with my switch, although it will take me a while to get another.

While it might not be needed, it would be great to see something like this

What i dont understand, is even if their was a button that could do this, if u want to truly be safe you would need to restore a full nand backup at any rate. Doing homebrew offline, then just enabling wifi doesn’t stop the nand being dirty ;). Emunand seems like a simple enough/safe solution to me.

From my understanding to be the safest, delete wifi settings, make your emunand and NEVER connect to network on emunand, like ever. You can continue normally in sysnand as long as you NEVER run Homebrew on your sysnand. Boot normally for sysnand and youll be ok.

If you want to connect to network on emunand you need to set up a DNS to stop traffic from Nintendo servers. If Nintendo gets a log report from your emuNAND you could be in trouble.

Necrobump. All the other messages in this thread are nearly 6 months old. I think most people using CFW on Switch are aware that if they want to stay safe from bans they need to use a clean SysNAND / Dirty EmuNAND setup.

Deleting wifi settings never made any sense to me it just seems like a superstition to prevent a ban. Then again all of us were in panic mode back in the early days of switch cfw. Emunand is pretty much your anti ban button so to speak.

I think deleting WIFI settings is just an extra measure in case the system is taken out of airplane mode. My nephew took my PS Vita off wifi mode and updated the firmware. If I didn't have the wifi settings saved it would have never happened and I wouldn't have had to swap out the mainboard for one on a lower firmware.

But why not just have it offline to prevent kids from updating? Deleting the WiFi settings that you constantly use is just not convenient at all. Most of the fear last year were ppl worrying about error log information within cfw and deleting WiFi setting was supposedly to help mitigate a ban. Idk being offline just made more sense to me not to mention theres an option to turn off auto updates meaning if there was a new update you are given a choice to do so or not.
