People seem to think that the 3DS is a god-tier device that will be perfect in every sense. I really doubt it will and this feels like a much more grounded approach to viewing it. He's not biased or a "hater", he's just saying what he saw, and honestly, I have a feeling
most level-headed people will feel the same way.

Level-headed people don't compare the "definitive" version of Super Street Fighter IV with the half-arsed iPhone port of Street Fighter IV and say they're about the same. It's not a case of whether the 3DS is a god-tier device or not, it's simply a case of certain people never being pleased with anything and making bad comparisons to justify their disappointment.
This. All this. The phone version is the single worst version of SFIV there is. Even from screenshots and low res trailers we know it's better than the iPhone version.

If the man isn't BSing, then he quite simply has a physical problem with 3D. Some people do. Not my problem. We've seen impressions, even ones by or very own tempers who have had no problem with the 3D on the 3DS.

Um, what is the NGP doing in this thread? Isn't this thread about a not-so-positive impression of the 3DS, not about how another handheld is better than another?
It's because most people on GBAtemp are blatant 3DS/NGP fanboys and can't resist the chance to declare their favourite handheld superior.

A sad truth.

I agree the SFIV version of the iPhone was shitty as hell but discrediting his entire argument because of that is foolish.

He said the 3D worked well on some games and not so much on others. I don't think he had a physical problem with it. Odds are it'll start bothering you some time in. For some people it'll be a few minutes, others half an hour, etc.

Or it could vary from person to person/game to game.

I don't exactly think you can say "It will start bothering you," as neither of us have tried it. How could you know?
2 and a half hours at the 3D movies has never given me a problem. There's not a lot of functional difference between normal stereoscopy and autostereoscopy.

Only a fool would say that it doesn't match xbox360's level. It's looking incredible the way it is, would you serious hope it to be on par with xbox360? -_-
Sony thinks we do.

There's plenty of people who get headaches and what not from 3D movies too. I know a friend who has a 3D TV and says it gives him headaches after a while. It depends on the person but sensitivity to 3D is something a lot more people have problems with than other things on a console.

Really though you can just turn the slider off, honestly if I bought a 3DS I wouldn't buy it for the 3D. That's probably why I've been leaning towards the NGP so much.

Then kindly don't tell me that it will start bothering me sooner or later. After 3-5 hours at the movies, I'll tell you how I feel and we can make an estimate for myself personally.

Anyway, I feel your estimate of a few minuter to half an hour is a little conservative. If that was true, 3D movies would be out of business. It definitely varies from person to person, but not by that tiny amount.

Holy shit. You guys are arguing like a bunch of 15 year old girls. I'm pretty sure that what happens with the 3DS will not be the same for everyone.*cough cough* I can say that for a fact. I've had MANY hours of play time on this thing already, and it's quite a unique console. Most of my opinions match that of Blaze163. I tried almost the exact same set of stuff, and my results pretty much matched his word for word. Most 3D effects do happen to pop out. It's a different experience from what I and I'm sure many of you guys are/will be used to.

You guys see one negative fucking review and the moment you can, you shit bats and rant all over it. For crying out fucking loud guys, let's get some decorum in here. I'm seriously sick of seeing constant questions like "OMG 3DEE SUXXORZ SO MUCH MAI EYEZ ARE MELTING" and whatever the hell you're going at. It's the same group of little fanboys that whine like little bitches who've had their toys taken away. Grow up. Wait for more definitive proof. Most claims I see here are so groundless and pathetic that it's almost laughable.

Seriously, someone lock this shit up, and any other 3DS topics until it releases on the 26th. That's twelve more days kids. I'm sure you can wait until then to post whatever you're going on about.

Jeez, don't be so snippy. Maybe you hold your own at 3D movies better than others but I get a slight headache after seeing a 3D movie. It usually goes away but it's there.

I was just thinking of Nintendo's health and safety warning thing when I made those estimates, odds are they'll vary more. If they're a little off then excuse me.

Really? That's why?

Anyway, 3D's an acquired taste I guess. Either way, I won't be using it that much. Or maybe never.

Well if the 3D seemed really impressive and added something new to the gameplay then I'd have my leanings a little different. But I'm just seeing the 3D as a graphics enhancer and it doesn't seem any better than just getting really good looking graphics and better tech in general. Plus I really liked the PSP and thought the titles were fantastic (nowadays I'd probably hold the PSP over the DS) so any type of continuation of that trend would really thrill me.

But secretly, the handheld that gets Peace Walker 2 gets my money.

Haha. I wouldn't mind that either. Could go either way, Kojima seems to like the 3DS. (What with the MGS3 port)

Well Guild, at times we disagree, but in this case I will agree with you fully

Sony loves to go all high tech and psp2 is impressive. logic though do you really need to drive that 5 inch screen with all that power just so ps3 games can be played? 3ds visuals looks great and RE:M shows that they are not sucky as most Sony fangirls screem. PSP2 obvious outshines the 3ds graphically but the difference isn't as big compared to ds - psp. Both hardware are awesome and they'll get good set of games.

Call 3d gimmick or not I'll have it on all the time and feedback has said it visually improves the game too.

Kojima's an odd dog. He's always had a leaning towards Sony systems but some fantastic MGS games still get their way across to Nintendo and Microsoft platforms (like MGS2: Subsistence, MG: Ghost Babel, MGS: TTS, MGS: Rising although I don't think Kojima is behind this one, etc). Really, my only real point for buying a 3DS is for the MGS3 port so I won't bother touching it until that's released and it's deemed a good port (which it probably will be but hey, who knows).

I'm kind of wondering about the "aquarium" 3D. Shouldn't it pop out?

Not necessarily. Old red/cyan 3D popped out. Now they focus mainly on depth.
