MPlayer always worked with my external usb drive... so did Geexbox.

GeeXboX can see my partition no problem but mplayer ce can't. It is the first partition on hard drive fat 32. Any ideas why?

Well Xbmc is being ported to powerpc so once thats out somebody can port it to wii and then strip some features from it to make it work efficently

For it to be at all useful, someone would have to figure out how to get the Wii to output 720p and up.

coding in C/C++ and coding for the Wii in the same language still involves a learning process to learn the system itself, but ofcourse you wouldnt know this seems as you cant code

dude, check the threads with polls about you guys thats all am saying..

I doubt that it will do any high def stuff but it would be nice to get all we can out of the little unit. Most of the downloaded video is low def and should be doable. I would like the album art to show while playing music.

Apparently CPU wise, they're the sime, but the Xbox has way better video capabilities, and the fact that it is based on x86, makes it a wonder for homebrew

XBOX 1 is more powerful and I would say better games. Way more software capabilities and stability. run shells, and web servers off it. And runs on linux and use python scripting

Yeah, it looks like one of XMBC's main developers is working on a Wii port.

Yes he is trying to fix the opengl library for the wii right now it would be easy to port if it ran on ppc
