Hi everyone,

Just thought I share the new skin I've applied on my 3DS Comos Black. I bought the Armorsuit full protection (carbon fiber skin + screen protector) for only $8 (thanks to bing rewards, original price was $19). At first I wasn't sure if I would like the new look as I really did like how sleek my 3DS look before, but once I got the skin, I like the new look better. The screen protectors work great, but the top screen's protector got indents from the bottom screen + circle pad, so I decide to remove it (but I still kept the lower screen protector on).

Here's what my 3DS look like before (kept it scratch free for over year now)(Large images, beware):

The skin covers most of the 3DS almost dead on, but there's a few parts where it doesn't cover or it didn't quite match up right. For example, the back cover didn't quite matched up with the screws, but it's not very noticeable. Also the SD card cover is left unskinned, but I think it looks alright. Overall the skin seems to be doing a great job protecting my 3DS, but also keeping it looking slick. The screen protector qualities are great, but the gel like surface makes the top screen cover get indented by the lower screen and circle pad.

I've read many reviews on similar products that this causes blisters, but I can't imagine this really rubbing against your skin, it has a nice smooth, almost matte feeling to it. I actually think it helps grip the 3DS better without adding much bulk to it. I still can even use it in my charging cradle.

I would highly recommend this for the carbon skin, but the screen protectors (the top screen mainly) issue would probably make you not want to use it.

What do you guys think of my 3DS looks?

Done, think you can manage to survive ;)

Do they make something like this for XL? It would be nice to cover up the blue on my system (except SD card slot which is fine) and I wouldn't mind the added grip.

I'm not sure I like that this covers the dpad/slider/buttons, seems like it could affect the feel of the controls.
But on second thought it's probably worth it to have the entire system be one flush color/pattern.
And it looks very thin, so it would hardly affect the controls. I have to say I'm quite impressed..

I haven't notice any difference using the buttons or the pads yet. They also did make this for the 3DS XL here: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0098QJH60/ref=cm_sw_r_an_am_at_ws_us?ie=UTF8

Wouldn't "blisters" in reference to this mean that you stick it on and it leaves little air bubbles on the 3DS, rather than blisters on your own skin?

judging by the user reviews, blisters really means blisters

"The bottom was irritating to my hand I repositioned it a few times but in the end had to remove it since it was giving me a blister on my hand....I really wanted this to work since it really does have a nice look but sadly it just hurts."

No they really meant their skin got irritated. I've only seen one or two review that said it gave them blisters. When I applied the skin, it left no visible air bubbles, but I made sure there wasn't any with the squeegee that came with the skin. Same goes for the screen protectors, when I applied them, there was some air/liquid bubbles, but with the squeegee I got them out pretty easily. The screen at first will have some marks and fuzziness to it, but over time these will heal up and you won't even notice it there.

So far I've been using this skin for 2 weeks. I've got no blisters, no scratches, no air bubbles, and the skin seems to be holding on pretty well.
