Homebrew Question A little problem I have

So I was trying to put my switch into RMC mode and then I finally got it. But when I plugged my USB c cable into my mac and then into my switch the switch started charging itself and the console turned on. What can I do?

What button combination did you hold on boot? Power and Volume+?
You should probably try Power and Volume- IIRC.

I usually press Vol+ first, then Power for two seconds before I plug it in, making sure my SD card is inserted and jig is properly secured.

Also check to see if you have the corr4ect drivers installed and you're launching te correct TGsmash for your computer, if you use Tegra.

I forgot to check if you can even use TGsmash for mac, since you can use the web launcher, but the same applies.

Much like @Briyoda 's reply, you can have your Switch plugged in first, turn it off, and try RCM (with Vol+ first, then Power).

I had to have it plugged in before I booted into rcm. If I didnt I had the same issue.

Just plug it in and shut it down when it's plugged in. It won't turn back on that way.

I know your problem is solved but for anyone else who reads this, it's important that you don't hold power + volume up for two long. About 2.5 seconds or a count to 5 is enough.

Or, you can turn it off, when it's off keeping vol+ pushed, and plug it, the action of plugin it will replace the power button.
