Hacking a lil savin NDS roms problem

Okay I patched a yoshi touch and go file then put it on my CF card. i Took the card out and put it in my m3 movie player the i went to games and the started the game, I was like omg

it works but when the rom started it said that i dunt have a save and i was like its kewl then i played the game and when i finished the game i tured it off then when i came to play it agian it said that the that it cant find a save file just like it did when i first played it soo all my work went to nothin i tried this with other games it still wouldnt save.... soo i would appreicate it i would like to hear any of thoughts or any recomendations

Are you using the game manager to copy the games to the CF card?
Are you using the lastest Game Manager?
Also chechk on the optinons of your M3 adapter to see if the option to backup the saves is on.
